Important Hill Driving & Air-Conditioning Policy
In accordance with Uttarakhand Transport Department safety advisories, vehicle air-conditioning operates normally across all plains and valley highways (Delhi, Meerut, Roorkee, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Dehradun, Haldwani, and Ramnagar). During steep continuous uphill climbs in the higher Himalayas (such as Rudraprayag to Guptkashi or Joshimath to Badrinath), AC is switched off to prevent engine overheating and maintain maximum braking and climbing torque. Since mountain temperatures above 4,000 feet remain naturally cool and pleasant, opening the windows allows fresh Himalayan breeze throughout the ascent.
